Simple Linear actuator control

TEP , The Engineering Projects , Category In: PLC Projects
I have an application to move a platform 0 to 7 inches (+/- .25inches) weight 50lbs (platform 15 inch x 24 inch) using a linear actuator.

System requirements:
1) Simple hand held interface to enter the value for Actuator to move platform.
2)Actuator shall move platform after enter button is pressed on display, the move shall always be a absolute move. Steps 1 & 2 can be repeated as many times as required to move platform to desired position. Position
shall be maintained after move is complete.
3)Available power is 120 vac single phase @ 7amps or less, plug into wall outlet.
4)The system shall be portable able to be picked up and hand carried to new location.

Is there manufacturer or build kits on the market that offers what is described above for control. Need to keep it inexpensive and simple, can design mechanics to meet actuator and held interface requirements.
