Phone Jack Types
Some of the schematics I am reading have two types of phone jacks, stereo and mono. the jacks are usually labled as Input and Output, and two out of three have the stereo jack on the input, and the mono jack on the output. I am really getting confused now, because I only have one of each for my project. the foxx diagram has the mono on the input, and the others have the stereo on the input. any good ideas on this? which way is best? most common? does it really matter?
Delay Switch Needed
hi, anyone have any idea if a circuit orproduct exists for the following:
I have a switch which I would like to have a delay of 30 minutes once my switch closes before completing the circuit. When my switch opens I would like to immediately open the circuit. I have 16 amps to control at 12v
Anyone able to help as imabit stumped?

RS & Farnell codes
Hi
I have started a new supply business and normally get inquiries with Farnell codes. Is there a way to conver these into RS codes and find the exactly same item hoping the price will be cheap.
thanks
question about old television
I have a very old television that was given to me a few years ago, from its appearance it's probably from the 1970s, but has worked fine. I unplug it every night (along with the converter box), and a few nights ago started noticing it has a heat smell inside the back when I unplug it. The last time, though, it started sizzling inside the back when I unplugged it. Haven't plugged it in or used it since- is it possible it could catch fire if I use it again?
What can I replace a 6v 4a AC adapter with?
My USB Hub requires a 6v 4a adapter. As shown in image. What can I replace this with because it is extremely difficult to find a 6v 4a. On tight budget - and I need to resolve this very soon as it is an essential part of my Music Production setup.

Is Instrumentation Amplifier is not Operational Amplifier?

DC Power Supply LM317
Hopefully someone with more knowledge of power supplies can answer this. I've built a variable DC power supply based on the LM317 regulator to power my guitar effects. I have a wall wart with 20VAC output connected to a full bridge rectifier I made from individual diodes. The rest of the circuit is one of the designs I've seen for the LM317. Some of the designs I've seen have additional diodes across the 3 pins of the regulator and some don't. Mine doesn't. When I power the circuit up, the DC voltage out responds well (~2-24VDC) when I turn the adjustment pot. The problem is that I also have an AC component that also responds to turning the pot. I understand that ripple can occur, but the AC voltage goes a high as 70v! Is this normal? I'd hate to fry one of my guitar effects. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
